A website is often the foundation of a company’s online presence. Combined with search engine visibility, social media, and quality content, it becomes one of the most effective tools available for reaching customers and building credibility. Flyers, mailouts, radio, and television advertisements can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars. Websites offer advertisement 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – and there are no restrictions on the content. The quality of my work is important. Every project is a reflection of me, my style, ability, and effort. Similar to taking on an acting role, I totally immerse myself into a project – focusing first and foremost on what’s best for the visitors of your site. Color theory, as well as the elements and principles of design are important, but my primary goal is content. Content precedes design. What good is a website if it is nicely “decorated”, but it doesn’t cater to the end-user? The ultimate consumers are the users.

On Experience….

My journey into technology began long before J&S Website Designs was founded. I worked as a Systems Analyst and consultant for organizations including JC Penney Business Services, AT&T and Sprint, developing software solutions and working with emerging technologies during the early years of the internet.

Over the years, I have worked in software development, education, website design, website management, and search engine optimization. Having witnessed the evolution of search engines from their infancy to today, I understand that long-term online success comes from building quality websites, creating valuable content, and earning trust—not chasing shortcuts.

This experience allows me to provide practical advice, honest recommendations, and solutions focused on long-term results.

On Search Engine Optimization….

SEO is a process which enables a website to attract more traffic by placing on top of organic search engine results pages (SERP) for certain keywords or keyword phrases. Although creating an appealing, memorable and engaging website is a must in today’s business world, websites must be designed to be search-engine friendly from the bottom up. All websites I design adhere to Google’s Best Practices for search engine optimization. In an online article entitled, Do You Need an SEO?, Google warns us to “beware of SEOs that claim to guarantee rankings, allege have a ‘special relationship’ with Google, or advertise a ‘priority submit’ to Google.”

On Website Management….

A website is only as good as the information it disseminates. Who wants to return to a website that has not been updated and displays outdated information? If you don’t update your content and continually tweak and target your keywords, not only will your visitors lose interest – Google, Yahoo and Bing will lose interest too! Okay so your website has just been completed, let’s launch it and watch it go? Designing a website is a great start, but that is all it is, a start.
